Distance Learning Letter

Dear AG Families,
I hope you are all doing well during this unprecedented time. Everything seems to be changing in our world and each day seems to bring uncertainty. Please know that we miss you all and prayerfully hope to see you soon.
On Monday, April 6, 2020, we will launch our distance learning resources which will be a new learning experience for all of us. Thank you for working with us and your child as we navigate how to best support you. Our primary goal is to connect with students and make sure that they are doing well emotionally while at the same time nurture their learning during this time.
The staff at Armistead Gardens has been working hard in the past week to reach out to all of you. Many of you may have received links, passwords, lessons and information for this upcoming week. Please reach out to us if you have any questions. We are still learning and building, but are excited to re-connect with our school community. I ask that you have patience and remain optimistic as we test the new online learning.
A few things for you to know about distance learning. The district and school will offer different learning opportunities of content through different methods. The methods are:
The Education and City Television Channels
Online learning opportunities
Online platforms- Google Classrooms
Phone outreach
Student work packets (distributed at the 18 meal sites)
As well as, teacher created materials
These different learning opportunities are to support the needs of all students and should provide families with options of when and how to learn. Please check out our school website or our Facebook page for the links to many of these resources and updates as they come. Google Classroom is available to every Baltimore City student. It is also accessible on mobile phones. Directions on access is posted on our website. After we learn from the launch next week, we may need to make adjustments to learning schedules so you are able to plan more and establish that important routine for your students and families and we will continue to answer your questions as quickly as possible. We are here for you and if you should need anything, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.

Estimadas familias de AG:
Espero que todos estén bien durante este tiempo sin precedentes. Todo parece estar cambiando en nuestro mundo y cada día parece generar incertidumbre. Por favor sepan que los extrañamos a todos y en oración esperamos verlos pronto.
El lunes 6 de abril de 2020, lanzaremos nuestros recursos de aprendizaje a distancia, que serán una nueva experiencia de aprendizaje para todos nosotros. Gracias por trabajar con nosotros y su hijo mientras buscamos la mejor manera de apoyarlo. Nuestro objetivo principal es conectarnos con los estudiantes y asegurarnos de que les vaya bien emocionalmente, al mismo tiempo que fomentamos su aprendizaje durante este tiempo.
